10 reasons why Rahul Dravid should become the President of India

With India’s most recognized former president (probably because of his hairstyle) Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam passing away, the people rose up, and tributes flooded in. We are Cricket fans, and since we can’t keep the game away from our lives, how about Rahul Dravid for India’s president? Here are 10 reasons why:

He is the “Master of his mind”

Remember this? Rahul Dravid immediately picked the cap up! #HappyBirthdayDravid

In an IPL match last year, Rajasthan piled up 189. Mumbai Indians needed to chase it down in 14.3 overs to go to the playoffs. The scores were tied after 14.3 overs when Aditya Tare slammed a six to take Mumbai’s run rate above the Royals, which made Dravid lose his cool! Yes you read that right!

He throwed away his cap in dejection! But then, immediately picked it up! Showing the control he has on his mind, a thing which comes only with wisdom. The mind being one’s slave is a good sign. "With age comes wisdom", hence justified!

More than just “The Wall”.

The Aussie great explains the common ‘nickname’. Yet another reason to love this man! A priceless gem for the country.

He’s always ‘mindful’

In a One Day International against arch rivals Pakistan. Jammy yet again showed his strategic skills..He very well knew Kamran Akmal’s vulnerability to hit the wider ball for a cut in the air on the off side. Pathan was asked to bowl it outside off shorter length delivery, the point fielder Suresh Raina was moved in a bit to short point. Pathan delivered what was exactly asked from him, Kamran reacted exactly like Indian captain presumed him to and Raina was in bussiness.

The ultimate ‘team-man’

India's all-rounder of the new millennium, Rahul Dravid never played for himself. This Navjot Singh Sidhu quote says it all. Whether asked to keep or bowl in tough situations, this man was the one who never ran away from responsibilities. Wicket-keeping needs one to be completely fit. But for Dravid, fitness was never a worry.

He kept it ‘simple’

This one needs no description. His simplicity is quite visible even today! You won’t see him on social networking sites. He prefers to lead a simple life, a mantra followed by greats.

Rock solid temperament

A mighty stare being replied with a gritty smile was a common scene when this man batted. This Shoaib Akhtar quote translates the same.

With an impeccable technique, ‘temparament’ or ‘constitution’ is needed. Rahul Dravid is a great example. A Virat Kohli may get ‘disturbed’ by the words spoken around him, not Dravid.

An inspiration for millions!

Steve Waugh lavished praise on the great, explaining why he stands as an idol for a million youngsters not only in the country but worldwide. Someone whom one can look up to. His conduct on and off filed was just outstanding, never involved in any rifts or wrongdoings.

Dedication, Determination and complete devotion!

From being the ‘Dark Knight’ of Indian Cricket to the nicest guy who finished first, he redefined success. Giving the game all he had, his success was well deserved!

His healthy aggression, giving it back!

Rahul’s harmless aggression played an integral role in his performances. He gave it back in style!

And finally, we will leave you with this one!

Harsha Bhogle totally nailed it! To sign off, this will be the best one!
