Ravindra Jadeja is back with a bang!

Your Setback makes the platform for your comeback.

This quote suits very well to the comeback story of Ravindra Jadeja. To understand this in detail let us go back in time in 2013 when the young Indian side won the Champions Trophy. Jadeja was awarded the golden ball for being the best bowler in the tournament. He also produced some meaty blows from his bat whenever needed. That tournament was triumph of Ravindra Jadeja. Everyone was quite assured that he is the all rounder which India had lacked all this years. Many believed that he has cemented his place in all the formats of the game. He had picked wickets in the tests as well to support this belief. But then came the downturn.

Last two years weren't great for him. He had picked wickets but not at the pace he used to pick. His average and strike rate were also affected and runs from his bat had dried out. He was ineffective against England in England in the test series.

The 2015 ICC World Cup also didn't do any wonders for him. He was not able to score runs in the death overs with the bat and leaked runs in the middle. He allowed batsmen to settle against him which was polar opposite to the game Jadeja once played. IPL didn't help too. Subsequently his place was taken by Axar Patel and Harbhajan Singh in the tour of Zimbabwe.  He was also not picked up for the tour to Sri Lanka. Amit Mishra was selected ahead of him.

He had some plans already in his mind to stage a triumphant comeback to the national side. He underwent many practice sessions with his Ranji team which helped him shake off some rust from him. And then came the Ranji trophy where Ravindra Jadeja becomes the Jacques Kallis of India because he is able to score runs smoothly and is super efficient in his bowling. He picked up 4 five- wicket hauls in the Ranji trophy leg and scored 3 fifties which proved to be handy. Due to these heroics in Ranji Trophy he found himself in the squad of the national side against South Africa.
The Indian team wanted a spinning track and the curator had decided to dish out the same so three spinners in the side were necessary and Jadeja was picked as the third spinner and as an all rounder. Pressure surely was there on Jadeja as he was playing his first test since 2014. He responded to this pressure brilliantly and scored a crucial 38 in the first innings. Coming to his main forte bowling, he picked up 3 wickets in the first innings and 5 wickets in the second innings which helped India to wrap up the entire test match under 3 days. This was an achievement in itself and the hero was surely Ravindra Jadeja.

The perfect reward for the comeback was the man of the match award. Jadeja was himself very delighted and accepted that he was under a lot of pressure before this game but he was happy that he proved himself again.

He not only proved that he is not only a fighter but also a priceless possession for Team India and the best all rounder in the current lot.
