Chris Cairns found not guilty in perjury trial

The veteran Kiwi Chris Cairns was finally released after eight week London trail over match-fixing allegations. The former Black Caps captain was cleared of a perjury charge, and both he and his co-accused, Andrew Fitch-Holland were not found guilty of perverting the course of justice. The jury took 10 hours and 17 minutes in total to reach to the final verdicts on Monday morning.

After being emerged out from the court, the first thing he did was thanked the jury and all his supporters who believed in him and helped him in even the smallest possible way.

"It's a pretty robust system, and the jury today came back with not a guilty verdict, and I couldn't be more happy", Chris told the media.

"My legal team have been superb throughout and I can't thank them enough, there's been a lot of people behind the scenes who have helped out too."

"Other than being exhausted and very very tired, I am looking forwards to getting home and seeing my family and being with them", said Cairns who was finally relieved after the allegations.
