Semi Final 2 : India vs. Australia : Match report

The defending champions India were knocked out of the 2015 edition of the Cricket World cup as they failed to repeat their winning act at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The 95 run defeat ended MS Dhoni's winning streak as well as the hopes of a million Indians. the mighty Australian's secured a World Cup Final berth with a fantastic performance. they clearly dominated the opposition in all three departments and undoubtedly deserved their win.

Australian Captain Michael Clarke , after winning the toss , elected to bat on a flat Sydney wicket and hoped to score some runs and put India under pressure.

The Indian pacers however , had some self-belief after their performance in this World Cup compared to the tri-series.

This man continued his dominance over the Indians and continued his sublime form. In his purple patch , he scored an entertaining 105 off 93 balls with 13 boundaries.

India come back into the game ! 

Australia suffer a collapse, losing four wickets for just 52 runs.

 

Ashwin finally won the battle against Maxwell and ended the Big Show's stay at the crease.

 

Umesh Yadav got the well-set Aaron Finch out.

Mitch to the rescue :

Mitchell Johnson , usually known for his hostile bowling and pace , smashed his way to 27 off just a 9 balls to take his team to a total of 328.

Indian innings :

Perfect beginning :

The opener ,Shikhar Dhawan gets India off to a good start by scoring 45 off 41 deliveries.

No.3 departs cheaply :

 India's most dependable batsman failed in the high pressure game as Johnson got the better of him.

All hopes on the Captain !

 India slide from 76-0 to 108-4, all hopes rest on MS Dhoni to take the country into the Finale.

Not sufficient on the day :

Dhoni tonks a few, tried his best , but the target turned out to be too much for Indians to chase.
